The French Revolution ends with the death of Honore Gabriel Riqueti, Count of Mirabeau.  As President of the National Constituent Assembly, Mirabeau had been a moderate check on the conflicting radical and reactionary ambitions of the Jacobins, Montagnards and Girondins.
