The legislature of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania revokes the charter of the central Bank of North America.  There had been numerous allegations of “alarming foreign influence” and the over extension of credit, without sufficient backing of gold and silver Coin (lawful Money).

Postscript: Two years later the BNA was re-chartered, but with limitations that restricted it from operating as anything more than a private bank.
