The Second Continental Congress passes the eighth Certificate Act, authorizing the issue of 5,000,000 “dollars” in Continental currency notes (Bills of Credit), in two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight and 30 “dollar” denominations.

       NOTE: This act raises the Continental debt to 31,000,000 Dollars.
