The Battle of Breed’s (a.k.a. Bunker) Hill: Lieutenant-General William Howe, commanding the Army of Great Britain, North America, wins a pyrrhic victory over the Militias of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, commanded by Colonel William Prescott.
NOTE: The British victory against the colonial rebels was so costly that Howe never again launched another offensive.
