The Battle of Blenheim (Bavaria): John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough, commanding the Armies of the Grand Alliance, defeats the Army of France, commanded by Camille d’Hostun, Duke of Tallard.  The French suffer 27 thousand casualties compared to only 13 thousand for the allies.
