Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury, declares the marriage between Henry VIII (r. 1509 – 1547) and Anne Boleyn to be valid
NOTE: Five days earlier Cranmer declared Henry’s 24-year marriage to Catherine of Aragon to be null and void. Four days later Anne was crowned as Queen of England.
