The Wars of the Roses continue, at the Second Battle of St. Albans: Henry Beaufort, Duke of Somerset, commanding the Lancastrian Army, defeats the Yorkist Army, commanded by Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick.

       NOTE: Beaufort was able to free Henry VI (r. 1422 – 1461; 1470 – 1471) from captivity.
